National Chamber of Mediators History

Pursuant to Law no. 10385, dated 24.02.2011 “On Mediation in the Resolution of Disputes” and as a necessity for the institutionalization of the service for the resolution of out-of-court disputes, the National Chamber of Mediators was established. On July 7, 2013, in the premises of the Ministry of Justice, in cooperation with JUST-USAID, the first 29 mediators founded the National Chamber of Mediators and with 24 votes approved the Bodies of the DHKN and its Statute.

The National Chamber of Mediators (DHKN) is a Public Legal Entity that exercises its activity independent of the state and its functions are regulated by Law no. 10385/2011 as amended and by-laws in force.

NCM Mission

The mission of the National Chamber of Mediators is to regulate and control the exercise of mediation activity in the Republic of Albania to guarantee Albanian citizens a quality and professional service, which is an alternative for resolving their conflicts and disputes out of court, with a low cost, in a short time and confidentially.

The motto of mediation is “benefit for both parties”.

Part of the mission of the National Chamber of Mediators is: protection of the interests of Mediators, its members. DHKN exercises its activity throughout the territory of the Republic of Albania, for every Albanian or foreign citizen and for the realization of its mission:
